DAWG provides a safe and loving environment for dogs awaiting permanent adoption, and promotes their adoption through outreach programs in the Santa Barbara community.
Their primary goal is to reduce the rate of euthanasia in Santa Barbara County shelters by providing the medical care and training many dogs need for a second chance at life. DAWG strives to represent the population of all homeless dogs regardless of breed, age, gender, or disability.
Since DAWG’s inception in 1991, they have worked hard to bring out the best in their dogs, improving their quality of life during their stay at the shelter, and placing healthy, well-behaved dogs back into the community.
Through the hard work, dedication, and generosity of wonderful volunteers and community members DAWG has grown from literally nothing to an amazing facility that has placed over 2,000 dogs into forever homes over the past ten years and placed 500 dogs in 2016 alone.
Without DAWG, hundreds, even thousands, of adoptable dogs would have died unnecessarily. Dogs that can help people in many amazing ways including both emotional and physical.
Every DAWG adoption kit now comes with a GRANOLA BARKS 2-pack!
